So today I had my first play pretty much ever.
It was alright.
Not really that good though.
The area where we were holding it was pretty loud and we were hosting a crowd of elderly so just imagine putting those two together and how well they don't mix. Only like four senior citizens came down from their rooms or other areas of the retirement community to watch the play and they all ended up leaving because they couldn't hear.
We wanted more residents to be able to see the play so they would have something to enjoy over the afternoon. Yet when our producer asked the woman behind the entry desk to make an announcement about it she said she wouldn't because it was already listed in the residents' daily planners and they already knew about it. So she basically didn't feel the need to send out the information again in case the original memo had slipped their minds.
So that's how we ended up with a depleting audience of four and only a few moms, mine included, left watching the rest of our play.
-Sigh- Whatever.
